It’s quiet and peaceful here, in a way Sunnydale wasn’t, not even on those carefree summers of his early childhood. The air is crisp and cold and strangely dry, considering the snow that covers everything like a soft, white blanket, unperturbed by cars, people or pollution, but for a few bushes that refuse, stubbornly, to die with winter.

His hand is lukewarm, now, absorbing Xander’s body heat slowly, and his calluses tickle gently the sensitive skin when he shifts slightly.

Summary: The hands were warm, delicate and gentle when touching him, as if he would shatter if he applied more than a ghost caress over his injuries. It was something new, to be treated with such a careful touch, to be able to feel the calluses as the broad palms slid over his shoulder and upper back, almost tickling.
