Notes: Written for the 2008 Giles/Xander ficathlon atgilesxander, in response to the prompt "Ghosts and Roses" - "Midnight Promise". As it was written in less than twenty minutes, I apologize for the low quality of the text and the poor grammar.
Summary: “I love you.” He whispered, soft and still unsure of my acceptance, and I kissed the corner of his mouth, still upturned in that shy, self-conscious smile, before lowering my mouth to his jaw, feeling the rough, dark stubble scrape against my lips. I reveled in it, the same as I reveled on his skin when he was clean-shaven, face still humid with the after-shave.
